HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall's women's soccer team dropped its season finale to Louisiana, 2-1 Thursday evening at Hoops Family Field.
The Herd (3-8-5, 1-5-4 SBC) led at the break on a converted penalty kick from junior Bailey Fisher. With the goal, Fisher finishes the season as the team's leading goal scorer for the second-consecutive season.

Louisiana (7-5-8, 2-4-4 SBC) scored a pair of goals in the 63rd and 83rd minute to come away with the road win.
Head Coach Rafa Simoes and the Herd's season ends with seven conference points, up one from last year's total, but four shy of the mark needed to qualify for the eight-team Sun Belt Conference Championship next week in Foley, Ala.
"I try to think of it as a marathon and not a sprint," Simoes said. "I think we changed the culture and had many positives to work from this season and I am proud of this group. We cannot thank the community enough, the support was awesome. We are set to go back to work and shift focus to 2025."
