NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University graduate senior Kylee Mastin has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Runner of the Week for the second time this season Wednesday as announced by the league office.
It is Mastin's second Runner of the Week honor of the season, after being named with the honor following her race at App State last month.
Mastin set a new 5K personal-best time of 17:16 in a 15th place finish Saturday at the elite Live in Lou Classic Gold Race.
"Super excited for Kylee," Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen said. "Running a 5K PR is really big for her. She ran tough and strong at a crowded Louisville Gold Race. We are very excited to see what she will achieve in the month of October and entering Championship Season!"
Mastin is a two-time Sun Belt Conference champion, and now a two-time Athlete of the Week. She joins Abby Herring and Macie Majoy as Marshall XCTF athletes to do so in the Sun Belt Conference era.
