Marshall Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall softball fans can start making plans for game days at Dot Hicks Field this spring. Head Coach Morgan Zerkle announced the team's complete 2025 schedule featuring 22-scheduled home games, starting with the Marshall March Madness Home Tournament on Friday, Mar. 7.

The challenging 2025 slate includes 11 NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago - including a showdown with the four-time defending champions, Oklahoma, from Love's Field in Norman on Saturday, Mar. 1. Marshall will also see other major-conference opposition including Texas Tech, led by reigning-USA Softball Collegiate Player of the year, NiJaree Canady in the season-opener.

"Last year when asked what was your favorite memory of the season, many players replied with answers like opening up against Arkansas or playing against Arizona," Coach Zerkle said. "I am thrilled to give them the opportunity this year to open up against the #1 arm in the country and later play the #1 team in the country. Those are going to be incredible experiences for this team to grow and feel really confident going into Sun Belt play. We have more depth, and I think we're all excited to see what they can do."

The team's third season in the Sun Belt Conference includes home weekend series with the league's respective regular season and tournament champions Louisiana and Texas State, as well as Coastal Carolina, and Georgia State. Marshall will travel to JMU, App State, South Alabama and Georgia Southern.

The 2025 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship will be May 7-10 from Troy, Ala.
