HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The eighth-ranked and 13th-seeded Marshall University Men's Soccer team (11-1-7) prepares to host the Furman Paladins (9-3-6) in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday at Hoops Family Field.

- This is The Herd's sixth consecutive tournament appearance and the fifth time it has received a bye into the second round.

- Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos leads MU with 23 points on a team-leading 10 goals with three assists.

- Marshall has a trio of players tied for the team lead in assists at four in Taimu Okiyoshi, Tarik Pannholzer and Alexander Stjernegaard.

ABOUT THE PALADINS
- Furman travels to Huntington after playing to a scoreless draw and advancing 5-3 on penalty kicks in its first-round match in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Thursday night against the UNC Tar Heels.

- The Paladines earned a bid into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big South Conference title. They defeated Mercer 2-0, advanced 6-5 on penalty kicks over top-seeded UNCG and won the championship game 2-0 over ETSU.

- Christian Kraus, a first-team all-SoCon selection has tallied a team-leading 16 points and six goals, while sitting tied for the team-lead in assists at four.

- Furman has the 2024 SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year in net in Aaron Salinas. Salinas made four of his 46 saves this season against the Tar Heels as he as .870 goals against average and .742 save percentage with six shutouts this season.

- The Paladins have produced a few United States Men's National Team players including Clint Dempsey, who is tied with Landon Donovan as the USMNT's all-time leading scorer at 57 goals and played the second most caps at 141 in USMNT history.
