Six Herd Swimmers Travel to U.S. Open Championships

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team has seven swimmers heading to the U.S. Open Championships this week in Greensboro, North Carolina from December 4 through December 7.

Paige Banton, Madeline Hart, Eszter Laban, Kseniia Luniushina, Mia McBride and Audrey West all qualified for the meet in different events.

Luniushina is competing in four events during the meet swimming the 100 and 200 Backstroke, the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly.

Banton and West are both scheduled to swim the 100 Breaststroke with Banton also competing in the 200 Breaststroke.

Like Luniushina, Hart is also competing in the 100 Butterfly as McBride is in the 100 Backstroke. Laban qualified and is swimming in the 400 Individual Medley.

As a team, The Herd will compete in four relays, the 200 Freestyle, the 200 Medley, the 400 Freestyle and the 400 Medley.
