ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team had a big day three at the Sun Belt Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.

Paige Banton became the best in program and Sun Belt history in 100 Breaststroke as Grace Kelsheimer now holds the program record in the 1m Dive.

"This was by far our best session of the meet," Herd Swimming and Diving head coach Ian Walsh said about the team's performance. "Top to bottom our women raced and executed really well. We had 12 lifetime best performances, 10 all-time top-10 performances, three NCAA provisional standards, two school records and one Sun Belt Conference Record."

Banton's school and SBC record-breaking swim in the 100 Breaststroke came by .01 of a second over JMU's Riley Bridgman. The Canadian breaststroker's time of 1:01.36 was an NCAA B standard qualifying time.

Kelsheimer broke the school record twice during the competition on the 1m boards with a 285.35 in prelims followed by a silver-medal winning score of 307.60, the first 300-plus score in the event in program history.

"Both Eszter Laban and Molly Warner were under the NCAA B standard in the 400 IM. Paige and Audrey West broke both broke the school record (in the 100 Breaststroke), with Paige setting it at 1:01.36. It was also a Sun Belt conference record. Grace Kelsheimer besting the school record twice and earning a silver medal was a huge milestone for her."

Audrey West picked up a bronze medal in the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.70) to reach the podium with Banton. Marshall also had another top-10 all-time performances in the event with Jessica Humby finishing the event in 1:04.43 for sixth, with her prelim time of 1:03.99 sitting eighth fastest in program history.

The Herd garnered a second- and third-place finish in the 400 Individual Medley with Eszter Laban (4:16.40) and Molly Warner (4:17.06) reaching NCAA B standards with each being top-four times in program history.

"So many inspiring performances tonight. Day four is typically our strongest and we're looking forward to another banner day for the program."

With a time of 54.74, Madeline Hart won a bronze medal in the 100 Butterfly. Hart's prelim time of 54.21 is tied for the second fastest time in program history.
