TROY, Ala. – Marshall University Men's Basketball (12-13, 7-5 Sun Belt) fell on the road to the Troy Trojans (16-8, 10-2 Sun Belt), 82-66, Wednesday night in Troy, Alabama.
"The big thing is we walked into a boxing match and we were soft," Herd men's basketball head coach Dan D'Antoni said. "They just played harder than us."
Nate Martin tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season. The Houston, Texas, native also registered five blocks and four assists in the contest.
With 16 points on a 7-for-13 shooting night, Kevon Voyles led The Herd in scoring in Alabama.
Marshall held an early 8-6 lead at the first media timeout of the contest. However, Troy grabbed the lead at the 15:26 mark, 9-8. A pair of 8-0 Trojan runs late in the opening 20 minutes put the Herd at a 39-19 deficit with the home side holding the lead the rest of the way.
The two sides battled in second half with each team scoring 42 points in the final 20 minutes.

Marshall is back in action on February 15 at App State. Opening tip is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
