Herd Tennis Continues SBC Play at Home Against Troy, Georgia State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (9-6, 0-1 Sun Belt) is set to host the Troy Trojans (7-4, 1-0 Sun Belt) and Georgia State Panthers (4-8, 0-1 Sun Belt) for its first home Sun Belt Conference weekend of the season.

Due to inclement weather on Friday, the match against Troy will be played at the 7827 Tennis Center in Barboursville with the match against Georgia State on Sunday being set to be played at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on campus. Both matches will begin at 10 a.m.

PREMATCH NOTES

Marshall fell in its conference opener on Saturday to Old Dominion, in Norfolk.
Johanna Strom moved her singles record to 14-7 in singles this spring with a victory at number two singles.

SCOUTING TROY

The Trojans started SBC play with a 4-3 in Statesboro, Georgia, on Saturday against the Georgia Southern Eagles.
Valerila Avdeeva clinched the match at number four singles where she is 3-1 this season.

SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE

The Panthers start the weekend at App State on Friday before coming to Huntington on Sunday.
GSU fell in its Sun Belt opener to Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina, last Saturday.
Andreea Stanescu is 5-2 at number singles this spring.
