Marshall Tennis Ends Weekend with Sweep of ULM

MONROE, La. – The Marshall University Tennis (13-6, 4-1 Sun Belt) finished the weekend with a 7-0 swept of the ULM Warhawks (1-11, 0-4 Sun Belt) in Monroe, Louisiana, on Sunday.

"Today was a good day as we continue to improve outdoors," Herd Tennis head coach John Mercer said after the win. "Hopefully we'll be able to get two more outside this week."

The Herd quickly captured the doubles point with Doroteja Joksovic and Andjela Lopicic not dropping a game in a 6-0 win at number three doubles. Johanna Strom and Emma Vanderheyden took their match 6-1 at number one doubles as MU took the doubles point. Sophia Hurrion and Aisling McGrane were leading 3-2 at number two doubles as their match went unfinished.

Marshall then dominated the Warhawks in singles. Strom dropped just one game in a straight sets win at number one singles as Vanderheyden, Joksovic, Hurrion and Lopicic all took their respective contests in straight sets.

Aisling McGrane battled back after dropping the second set to win her match on court five a super tiebreak third set to complete the sweep.
