Marshall travels to Vanderbilt next week in final meet before SBC Championships
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Marshall track and field concluded the UVA Classic with five scoring results amid the elite field.
The women's 4x100 and the 4x400 teams highlighted the day for Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts' team.
"We had another strong weekend against tough competition at the University of Virginia," Roberts said. "Some of our highlights include a school record by Abby Herring, and numerous personal bests and season bests. We've had some good momentum the past two weeks and are seeing upward movement in the Sun Belt rankings including Ronnie Saunders in the steeplechase moving to the top spot after yesterday's performance. Our relay teams competed tough this weekend including our women's 4x4, which had a breakthrough and moved up to 5th in the Sun Belt rankings.
The women's 4x400 relay finished 6th with a time of 3:45.22, a mark which currently put the group in 5th place in the Sun Belt. The women's 4x100 of Kennedy Pedro, Tyra Thomas, Marlee Porter, and Faith Gandy placed 8th, setting a season-best time of 46.80.
