NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two school records and nearly a third of 20-years came crashing down for Marshall's Track and Field program Friday night at the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.
Abby Herring set the new school record in the Outdoor 3K with a time of 9:24.59.
Kylee Mastin took down the 1500 meter record by four seconds, racing a 4:19.49. In the process, Mastin took the lead in the event for the Sun Belt Conference.
The near-third record came from Rebecca Merritt in the discus. Merritt's throw of 52.00 meters finished 3rd in a crowded field, while challenging Erin Compton's 2003 throw of 52.12 meters. Her throw is now fourth in the SBC Performance List.
