Ulrich Hits 10th Home Run in Series Finale Against Coastal

Herd falls to Chanticleers 12-3
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall softball (21-23) lost the rubber game of its series against Coastal Carolina (29-19) by a 12-3 score.
Redshirt-sophomore Brooklyn Ulrich slugged her 10th home run of the season on the first pitch she saw in the 1st inning.
Ulrich finished the weekend with six hits on 10 at-bats (.600) with four RBI and three doubles.
The Herd found itself playing from behind with the Chanticleers scoring 12 runs on 12 hits and a 4th inning grand slam.
Initially, the team did rally from an early 3-1 hole in the 2nd, with hits from Destiny Washington, Rielly Lucas, and Sydney Bickel.
Freshman pitcher Emily Cole kept the Chanticleer offense silent in the 5th, pitching a scoreless inning in relief in her first outing since Mar. 3.
Cole and the defense were aided by an incredible leaping grab by center fielder Kasia Parks

Marshall will play a midweek game at #13 Virginia Tech on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
