HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The 10th-seeded Marshall softball team faces the 7th-seeded Georgia Southern Eagles at 8 p.m. EST, 7 p.m. CST Wednesday night from Texas State.
The single-elimination tournament held Wednesday through Saturday in San Marcos, Texas crowns the Sun Belt Conference champion.

PREGAME NOTES
- As a team, Marshall concluded the regular season as the Sun Belt Conference's top hitting team with a .321 batting average. The Herd's Brooklyn Ulrich and Bella Gerlach finished tied atop the league with 48 RBI each.
- MU finished the regular season with a 24-27 record. Despite the Herd jumping from a strength of schedule of 154 in 2023 to 88 in 2024, the team finished with a higher conference batting average of .332 this year, compared to .305 last season.
- Marshall won the series against Georgia Southern in the regular season, taking two of three from the Eagles in Huntington.Â
