HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team travels to Davidson, North Carolina, for the Wildcat Classic as it opens the 2024 regular season. The Herd will take on ETSU Friday with matches against Davidson and Elon on Saturday.

PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Marshall took its final preseason contest in a sweep over St. Francis on Saturday.
- Marshall welcomes eight newcomers with five freshman, Audrey Geer, Emma Sayre, Taylor Bartrum, Marae Reilly and Hiva Ozgel, and a trio of transfers, Izzy Collier from Florida Southwestern, Sarah Stratton from VCU and Kenzie Schoenhardt from Arizona.
- MU has 15 returners on the squad, including senior setter Brynn Brown. The Toledo, Ohio native returns after a season that featured a team-high 870 assists and 251 kills, second mons on the team. Brown also registered five triple-doubles during the 2023 campaign, fourth most in the NCAA.
SCOUTING ETSU
- The Buccaneers are coming off a 6-23 season in 2023 and were tabbed to finish sixth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll.
- Jenna Forster was named to the Preseason All-SoCon team after finishing 235 kills, 48 blocks and 42 digs.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
- The Wildcats closed out 2023 with a 19-10 overall record and 11-7 mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
- Davidson was picked to finish fourth in the 2024 A10 Preseason Coaches Poll.
SCOUTING ELON
- The Phoenix was picked to finish 10th in the 2024 CAA Preseason Coaches Poll finishing with a 5-22 record in 2023.
- Sydney Love was named a Preseason all-CAA Honorable Mention finishing last year with 230 kills, 77 digs and 45 blocks.
