Marshall’s Cameron Jarvis Named SBC Men’s Golfer Of The Week

Herd junior’s 2nd Round 64 leads to one-stroke victory at Joe Feaganes Invitational
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall junior Cameron Jarvis was named the Sun Belt Conference's Men's Golf Player of the Week on Thursday – just two days after winning the 2024 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
Jarvis earned the win at the Feaganes Invitational after carding a 7-under 64 in the 2nd round to enter the final day with the lead.
On the final day, Jarvis got a birdie on No. 10 and then earned par on his final eight holes – several of which were tough up-and-down scenarios - to fend off competition for a one-shot victory.
"We are so excited for Cameron Jarvis!" Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "He played great this week and his second-round 64 was so impressive! It is a great honor for him to be named Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week. The Sun Belt is one of the best golf conferences in the country and features some of the best players, so whenever you can win a Sun Belt Award, it feels really special."
His final-round 1-under 70 was the third straight day that Jarvis finished at Even-par or better, maintaining consistency while minimizing mistakes to help Marshall to a 15-stroke win in the team competition over second-place Longwood.
Jarvis connected for 14 birdies and an eagle in his three rounds at Guyan Golf & Country Club – the eagle coming during his 7-under 64 that vaulted him from middle of the pack to the leader of the tournament at the end of Day One.
Jarvis and the Herd Men's Golf team is back in action next week at the River Run Collegiate in Davidson, North Carolina.
