Herd Volleyball Opens SBC Action at Coastal Carolina

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (9-4) is set to begin Sun Belt Conference play Friday and Saturday in Conway, South Carolina, with a pair of matches against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (4-7).

PRE-MATCH NOTES

The Herd finished non-conference play at the Greensboro Invitational last weekend going 3-0 with wins over Georgetown, Tennessee Tech and UNCG dropping just one set to the Hoyas.
Brynn Brown registered her 2,000th career assist and 500th career kill in the team's opening win over Georgetown.
Marshall sits 22nd in the nation with 764 digs, led by Peyton Neal's 218, who sits 18th in the country.

SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA

The Chanticleers enter the weekend with a 4-7 record having played three matches against ranked opponents in non-conference play, one against then-ranked No. 14 Georgia Tech and a pair of matches against then-ranked No. 16 Tennessee.
Jaylin Stout leads the SBC and country with five triple-doubles this season, averaging 3.02 kills per set.
Last season the Chanticleers went a perfect 12-0 in SBC matches, winning both the regular season and conference tournament titles.
