HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Tennis team (4-0) continues the Spring with a matchup against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (5-1) on Sunday at 11 a.m. The match will be played at the 7827 Tennis Center in Barboursville.

PREMATCH NOTES
  • The Herd captured a pair of wins at home last weekend with a pair of 6-1 victories over EKU and Bellarmine.
  • Emma Vanderheyden was named the SBC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday for going 4-0 across her matches last weekend. The senior is 3-1 this season at No. 1 doubles and 2-1 at No. 2 singles.
  • Sophia Hurrion has not lost a match this Spring with a perfect 4-0 record at No. 4 singles and a 3-0 record at No. 2 doubles.
 
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
  • The Demon Deacons enter Sunday on a five-match winning streak after a 7-0 triumph over Elon on Sunday. The team's lone loss came in its opener 4-3 to Tennessee on January 18.
  • The No. 44 ranked doubles pairing of Kady Tannenbaum and Nevena Carton are 5-0 at No. 2 doubles during the Spring.
  • Carton also sports a 3-1 record at No. 1 singles with Krystal Blanch at 3-1 in No. 2 singles.
