Marshall Women’s Hoops Hits Hardwood for Pair of Weekend Contests

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's women's basketball team (3-2) gets a preview of conference play with two games over the span of three days this weekend.
The Herd travels to a Morehead State-hosted MTE to face USC Upstate (2-3) for a noon tip Friday on a neutral court before returning to the Cam Henderson Center Sunday at 4 p.m. to face IU Indy (2-2).
Fans attending Sunday's game can receive free admission with the donation of non-perishable food items.

COACH JULI FULKS
- Head Coach Juli Fulks is in year two leading Marshall's Women's Basketball program. Fulks came to the Herd with a prestigious 400 wins while leading Transylvania to the 2022-23 DIII National Championship.
- Fulks and the Herd set a program record with four postseason wins in its run during the 2025 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship.
PREGAME NOTES
- The Herd continues to be a defensive force, leading the Sun Belt Conference by a wide margin with 87 steals (17.4 per game) - 10 more steals than the next closest SBC side.
- Senior Timaya Lewis-Eutsey and freshman Olivia Olson co-lead the team in scoring with 11.2 PPG. The Herd's offensive outburst Tuesday saw the team score 105 against Salem, the 23rd 100+ point performance in program history.
- Friday's contest for the Herd will not be video streamed. WMUL-FM 88.1 will audio stream the game from Morehead.
ABOUT THE USC UPSTATE SPARTANS
- USC Upstate is 2-3 with its defeats coming on the road to Clemson, Georgia and Kentucky.
- The reigning Big South Freshman of the Year Cassie Gallagher leads the team with 12.8 PPG.
- Friday will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs, the Spartans won in Huntington on Nov. 17, 2010.
ABOUT THE IU INDY JAGUARS
- IU Indy - "Indiana University Indianapolis" (formerly IUPUI) - is 2-2 with all of its games being decided by 12 points or fewer.
- Like Marshall, IU Indy forces over 20 turnovers per game with 21.3 per contest this season. The team's 50 steals are second in the Horizon League.
- The Jags won the only meeting between the two sides in the 2007-08 season at a neutral-site contest in Oxford, Ohio.
