Women’s Basketball Tips Off Sun Belt Conference Play Wednesday Morning Against App State

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Basketball (9-3) opens Sun Belt Conference play Wednesday morning at home against App State (6-3).
The special 11 a.m. tip time for Education Day is expected to bring around 3,000 local students to the Cam Henderson Center.

COACH JULI FULKS
- Head Coach Juli Fulks is in year two leading Marshall's Women's Basketball program. Fulks came to the Herd with a prestigious 400 wins while leading Transylvania to the 2022-23 DIII National Championship.
- Fulks and the Herd set a program record with four postseason wins in its run during the 2025 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship.
PREGAME NOTES
- In Marshall's win Sunday, the Herd blanked EKU in the final quarter, outscoring the Colonels 17-0. It marked the first occasion in program history where the Herd shut out its opponent in an entire quarter since the format switched to four-10 minute periods for the 2015-16 season.
- The Herd's nine wins are tied for the most by any SBC program to this point (Troy) as the league begins conference play Wednesday. The full standings entering league competition can be found HERE.
- Senior Timaya Lewis-Eutsey leads the league with 43 steals as SBC play opens. The transfer guard is 6th in the conference with 15.3 PPG.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State enters league play 6-3 with its losses coming to Davidson, WVU, and Clemson.
- Junior Daisia Smith leads a balanced scoring team with 10.5 PPG, the only App player averaging double figures. Two additional transfers are on the precipice of 10 points per game with Denver transfer Emma Smith (9.9 PPG) and Georgetown transfer Jayden McBride (9.7 PPG).
- The all-time series between the two sides is tied at 26. The Herd won the latest meeting in the 4th Round of SBC Tournament last season.
