Kelsheimer’s Program Record Highlights Day Two for Herd at SBC Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team closed out day two on Thursday at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Orlando with four top 10 program marks and a team record in 3m Diving by Grace Kelsheimer.
"Another strong session today by everyone," Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ian Walsh said. "We had 11 additional season bests tonight, four lifetime bests, four all-time top 10 performances and a program record."
Kelsheimer highlighted day two for The Herd by setting the program record in 3m Diving with a score of 345.60 after just missing the mark in prelims by .1 of a point. Ally Humbert scored 253.25 in consolations, the ninth-best score in program history. MJ Leviaguirre reached the finals finishing in eighth.
"Grace K had a phenomenal showing tonight, beating the school record by over 25 points" Walsh said. Our swimmers had some really gritty performances and fought for every point tonight. Our 200 Free Relay was a great way to end the evening, our second fastest relay in school history."
Molly Warner improved upon her second fastest mark in program history in the 200 Individual Medley to take silver with a time of 2:00.71.
In the 50 Freestyle, Kseniia Luniushina took the silver with a time of 22.83 as Madeline Hart finished fourth and tied her sixth fastest time in program history in 23.04 seconds.
MU closed out the night with silver in the 200 Freestyle Relay as Luniushina, Hart, Audrey West and Parker Lynch finished in 1:31.43, the second fastest time in program history.
"Every session the mindset is building upon each event. Tomorrow will be a strong day for us and I'm excited to have our whole team compete together."
