Mastin Becomes Marshall T&F’s Most Decorated Athlete of All-Time at SBC Championships

Herd Men and Women finish 7th with three combined Gold Medals
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Marshall's Kylee Mastin cemented her legacy as an all-time Thundering Herd great with Gold Medals in the Women's Mile and 3K to close the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships.
Mastin finishes her collegiate career as Marshall Track & Field's only four-time individual champion, male or female. The only three-time champions in school history are Shawn McWhorter (1982-84) and Andrew Wilhite (1996-97).
With Monday's DMR Championship where Mastin was the anchor leg, and last fall's cross country championship, Mastin has six gold medals to her name as a student-athlete at Marshall University.
Mastin leaves Marshall as the school's record holder in the Indoor 800, 1K, Mile, 3K, and DMR and Outdoor 800 and 1500. Her career ends with the 2024-25 indoor season due to the nature of covid impacting the 2020-21 seasons.

As a team, the Marshall women finished 7th with 52 points. Destiny Berryman, McKenna Woodruff, Hannah Wyler, and the 4x400 relay team scored in addition to Mastin on Tuesday.
The men were led by Kazuma Bowring's second-place finish in the 800 finals. The Herd finished 7th as well with balanced scoring efforts from Joey Bloebaum, Isaiah Harper, Ryan Muktar, and its 4x400 relay squad.
