Herd Long Jumpers Open Outdoor Season With Wins

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Marshall's Addison Painter and Lara Check each scored as the top collegiate finishers in the respective Men's and Women's Long Jump Events on day one of the Hurricane Invitational at Miami.
"Those were great marks today!" Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. "To win against that level of competition is a great way for Lara to start the season. Addison's performance was very impressive as well. He was the top collegiate finishing close behind two professional athletes. Both of their marks put them in a good spot to qualify for the NCAA Championship First Round."
Painter's Long Jump mark of 7.55 meters is a new school record, breaking Khamisi Jackson's record from 1995.
