Diamond Leslie Hits First Herd Home Run in Saturday Split

NORMAN, Okla. — Marshall Softball scored nine runs on nine hits in its 9-1 Saturday win over UMKC.
In the win, freshman Diamond Leslie hit her first collegiate home run with three hits and four RBI.
First Game: Marshall 9, UMKC 1 (5 innings)
Leslie's three-run home run broke open the game for Marshall in a four-run 4th. She is the fifth Marshall player to hit their first collegiate home run in 2025 (Tia Titi, Abby Darnley, Chandler Hoskins, Haleigh Adkins).
The Herd's freshman outfielder also had the game-ending hit in the 5th with an RBI single through the left side to seal the Herd's win.
Starter Paige Maynard received plenty of insurance against the 'Roos, with a five-inning complete game performance, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts. It was the first win for Maynard with the Herd as a starter.
Redshirt junior Brooklyn Ulrich additionally hit her first home run of 2025 for MU in the win. Redshirt freshman Chandler Hoskins drove in a pair as well, with two hits in the win, three total on Saturday.
Second Game: #1 Oklahoma 11, Marshall 0 (5 innings)
Oklahoma remains unbeaten at 18-0 as it chases its fifth-consecutive NCAA title in 2025. Marshall drops to 0-5 all-time against the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.
The Herd had four hits in the game, two coming from senior Kasia Parks who had multiple hits in each of Saturday's contests.
