Chandler Hoskins earns Mid-Season Freshman Accolades
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall softball team (19-13, 5-1 SBC) has been ranked No. 17 in the D1Softball Mid-Major Rankings for Week 7.Â
D1Softball releases the Mid-Major Rankings weekly on Wednesdays through the entire regular season, which functions similar to a traditional Top 25. Every team outside the P4 is eligible for this ranking.

The Herd has won six games in a row and 13 of its last 15 and the accolades are reflecting accordingly.Â
In addition to D1Softball's ranking, redshirt freshman Chandler Hoskins has been named the 7th-ranked Mid-Major freshman in Softball America's Mid-Season Freshman Rankings. Â
On Tuesday, senior Rielly Lucas was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Marshall enters the third week of league play at the top of the SBC standings. The Herd hosts Texas State (20-8, 4-2 SBC) starting Friday from Dot Hicks Field.  Â
