Herd T&F Wins Nine Events at JMU Invite

HARRISONBURG, Va. - In a preview of next month's Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, Marshall Track & Field had nine event wins at Sentara Park for the JMU Invite.
Of the victories, the Herd swept two events with Addison Painter and Lara Check winning the Long Jump. Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts' side ended the meet with a sweep of the 4x400 relays (Team of Ethan Bowens, Micah Coates, Isaiah Harper, Wyatt Milhoan; Team of Myah Boze, Haleigh Crum, Brynn McKeever, Azure Travis)
"Our growth over the last two years really showed today," Director Roberts said. "We came to this same meet last year and left with two wins. This year we left with nine wins including three freshman-heavy relays. Lara Check and Addison Painter had another great day and set the tone by winning the long jump."
"Markayla Moore, Tavon Simmons Roberts, Hannah Wyler, and Evan Weder all came out victorious with great performances. Emma Henry ran the 3rd fastest time in school history in the 100m dash. We are continuing to build depth in that area with her being the 3rd newcomer to crack the top-5 in the women's sprints over the last 3 weeks."
"Nyah Harrison ran one of the top times in the Sun belt and the fifth fastest time in school history with her performance today. Our men's 4x1 relay tied the school record of 40.89 again with a different order. Overall, I liked our mentality and effort in less than ideal weather conditions."
