Marshall Men’s Golf Finishes Play At 2025 Sun Belt Men’s Golf Championship

Three players finish under-par on final day; Aber finishes T-25 to lead Herd
MADISON, Miss. – Marshall Men's Golf closed out the 2025 Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship at Annandale Golf Club on Wednesday.
Marshall's J.F. Aber ended the tournament tied for 25th to lead the Herd contingent while three Marshall golfers finished with rounds under par in Wednesday's final round of stroke play, led by a 3-under 69 by Clayton Thomas.
Joining Thomas in red figures were seniors Ryan Bilby and Joseph Kalaskey, who each carded 1-under 71s in their final rounds with the Herd.
Thomas went to work almost immediately on Wednesday, birdieing his second hole of the day – the par-5 11th hole – before later adding birdies on Nos. 16 and 18 in his opening nine. He followed with a birdie on No. 3 after making the turn before also recording a birdie on his final hole of the day for the final round 69.
Like Thomas, Bilby used the par-5 11th to his advantage to start the day strong and later had birdies on Hole Nos. 15 and 18 before carding pars on his final nine holes en route to a 1-under 71 – his second round below par in the tournament.
The end to the tournament for Kalaskey was a memorable one as he recorded three consecutive birdies that helped him end the final round of his Herd career below par with a 1-under 71. Kalaskey led Marshall on the day with six birdies.
Aber was again the model of consistency for the Herd, recording 11 pars in his first 13 holes on the day while battling back from a double-bogey on No. 7 to finish with a 73 on the day and 1-over for the tournament.
Marshall finished the Stroke Play portion of the SBC Championships in 11th place, which brought an end to the 2024-25 season for Herd Men's Golf.
