Marshall Cross Country Opens 2025 Season With Pair of Top-2 Finishes

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall Cross Country competed hard at its home Thundering Herd Invitational Friday evening at the Kennedy Center YMCA Complex. Both teams finished second with six combined Top-10 individual finishes.
Both teams finished second to traditional Great Lakes Regional power Ohio.
Leading the way for the Marshall men was sophomore Justin Lipscomb. The Herd men had its top-seven all under 16 minutes in the 5K.
I thought our kids ran really well, Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. They competed hard, both the men and women. I am really excited about where the men's team has grown to, it is starting to come together.
The Herd women were led by sophomore Destiny Berryman. Senior Hannah Wyler and transfer Maggie Froning followed closely behind.
Very excited to see where this group is at now, Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. It is a good spot to be in. We have our next meet in two weeks but we are excited where we are at.
