Berryman and Lipscomb Lead Way for Marshall XC at Southern Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Marshall Cross Country competed at the Southern Showcase in Alabama Friday morning, competing against a near-combined 700 runners.
Each of the top-4 Marshall women set new personal records, including sophomore Destiny Berryman who led the team for the second meet running with a 5K time of 17:34.
Sophomore Justin Lipcomb led the men's side for the second consecutive meet as well, racing a 25:13 8K time.
"What a strong race!" Head Coach Caleb Bowen said. "Very proud of both squads and their races today. We came to Alabama to get a good simulation for how Foley will be in late October and I think we got just that."
"Really proud of how close our 1-5 splits were for both men and women. We have a big 3 weeks before Louisville so I am excited to get back to training and make big advances in fitness here in this next cycle."
The Herd women finished 18th out of 43 complete teams, the men 27th out of 34.
