HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – In its final non-conference road game, Marshall Women's Soccer (4-0) travels to Murray State (2-3) Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. eastern, 2 local time.

COACH RAFA SIMOES
- Head Coach Rafa Simoes is in year two leading Marshall's women's soccer program. The former associate with the Herd men's team is a 2018 graduate of the University of Charleston in West Virginia, where he played for then-head coach Chris Grassie.
- Simoes coached 19 newcomers in his first season leading Marshall's women's soccer team. He earned his first win as a head coach on Sept. 1, 2024 in a 1-0 victory over Belmont.
PRE-MATCH NOTES
- Posting a 4-0 record, Marshall is off to its best start since 2009 when the Herd started 7-0 to begin the season. In 2023, MU was unbeaten through six games with a 5-0-1 record.
- Four players have scored multiple goals this season for the Herd, including senior defender Kajsa Ekstrom, who scored off a corner in the team's victory over Wright State Wednesday. Four MU players tallied multiple goals for the entire 2024 season as the team has already surpassed its win total from a season ago.
- Sophomore Fernanda Dantas is tied atop the SBC lead with four assists, including the corner placed to Ekstrom Wednesday.
ABOUT THE RACERS
- Murray State enters Sunday with a 2-3 record, including a season-opening victory over Troy.
- The Racers lead the all-time series, 1-0-1 over the Herd. Both previous contests have come from Cutchin Field in Kentucky.
