Marshall Men’s Golf Earns PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award

Herd one of 75 teams to receive Presidents Special Recognition
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Men's Golf was named a 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recipient, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday.
The Herd Men's Golf program was one of 75 teams to receive GCAA's Presidents Special Recognition, which is given to teams that finish with a Team GPA of 3.5 or higher.
"Again, we are so proud of our players for their commitment to excellence in all realms of being a student-athlete," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "These guys represent Marshall so well and we are proud of all the accomplishments they earn on the course and in the classroom. They are great ambassadors for Marshall."
The announcement comes less than a week after Marshall was one of only 23 Division I golf programs to feature at least five golfers as GCAA Academic All-Americans. Those five players were J.F. Aber, Cameron Jarvis, Joseph Kalaskey, Clayton Thomas and Andrew Wyss.
For the 2024-25 academic year, Men's Golf finished with a 3.57 Team GPA, which led all men's programs at Marshall.
