BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball team (6-4) took its final two matches at the Hokie Invitational, taking down Robert Morris 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-16) in the early match and following up with a 3-1 win over Maryland Eastern Shore (25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23) at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Bella Thompson was named to the all-tournament team.
It was a great day for our Herd. Very proud of our team's fight and battle, especially playing back-to-back with such a short turnaround," Herd Volleyball Head Coach Heather Stout said. "We had a ton of people make huge contributions, Cary's Kerr really stepped up offensively and was powerful from the service line. I thought Kenzie came in and made our serve receive calm and dug really well to keep feeding both Marae and Elli. I loved how Bella led her court today in a 5-1 capacity. She was sound in all factors which really helped us have good offensive distribution. All in all, it was great to see how much depth we are establishing, today was two collective team wins and this group is all in, nothing more a coach can ask for."
