Marshall Football’s Sept. 27 Game At Louisiana Set For 8 p.m.

Herd, Ragin’ Cajuns meet in Gibson's first SBC matchup
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football's 2025 Sun Belt Conference opener at Louisiana on Sept. 27 will be an 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT kickoff and be seen on ESPN+, the league announced on Monday.
The Sun Belt made the announcement in coordination with ESPN, as part of the league's 12-day window for televised games.
The game serves as the first Sun Belt Conference game in the coaching career of head coach Tony Gibson.
It is also a rematch of the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship game, which the Herd won 31-3 to capture the title.
This will be the fourth meeting in the last five years between the schools and the third that comes with both schools as members of the Sun Belt Conference.
Marshall's victory last season was the first for the Herd over Louisiana and it gave the Herd its first-ever Sun Belt Conference title.
Previous meetings came in the 2021 New Orleans Bowl when the 16th-ranked Ragin' Cajuns rallied to top Marshall at the Caesars Superdome. Louisiana then earned a 24-13 win over Marshall in the Herd's first-ever home league game as a member of the SBC in 2022.
