Marshall Women’s Basketball Begins Season-Long Road Trip at JMU Thursday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Sun Belt Conference-leading Marshall Women's Basketball team (15-3, 6-0 SBC) will play its next four away from Huntington, starting first with a trip to Harrisonburg to face the JMU Dukes (11-7, 3-3 SBC) Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
The Herd will then remain in Virginia for a 2 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Jan. 17 against Old Dominion (10-7, 2-3 SBC).

COACH JULI FULKS
- Head Coach Juli Fulks is in year two leading Marshall's Women's Basketball program. Fulks came to the Herd with a prestigious 400 wins while leading Transylvania to the 2022-23 DIII National Championship.
- Fulks and the Herd set a program record with four postseason wins in its run during the 2025 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship.
PREGAME NOTES
- The Herd has won 10 straight, a feat it has accomplished for the fourth time this century (2004-05, 2023-24 [x2]). The Herd won 12 consecutive games in 2004-05, its longest streak since the 1971-72 season.
- Senior Timaya Lewis-Eutsey is two points shy of 1,000 for her collegiate career. The VCU transfer ranks second in the league in scoring, averaging 16.8 PPG trailing only JMU's McDaniel's 17.9 per contest.
- Marshall has been victorious despite trailing entering the second half in each of its last three games. The Herd is outscoring its opponents 259-202 in the second half and overtime in conference games this season.

ABOUT THE DUKES
- JMU is 11-7 with a 3-3 league record. The defending regular season champions dropped a pair of road league games last week at Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
- Grad. senior forward Ashanti Barnes led the Dukes with 21 points when the Herd and Dukes faced off earlier this season.
- The Herd won the last meeting in Huntington, 83-74 in overtime on Dec. 20, 2025. JMU leads the series, 10-5.
ABOUT THE MONARCHS
- Old Dominion is 10-7 with a 2-3 SBC record. The Monarchs will host App State before meeting the Herd Saturday.
- Senior Simaru Fields is the team's leading scorer with 13.2 PPG. Fields scored 19 when the two sides met last week in Huntington.
- ODU leads the all-time series, 15-11. The Herd rallied to win in Huntington, 77-70 on Jan. 7.
