Herd Wins Ninth Straight Behind Lewis-Eutsey’s Career-Night

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Basketball rallied to knock off Old Dominion, 77-70, on Wednesday at the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd improved to 14-3 overall and 5-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, powered by a career-high 33 point effort from Timaya Lewis-Eutsey
Timaya Lewis-Eutsey eclipsed the 30 point mark for the second time this season on 11-of-20 shooting and adding 11 free throws. She fueled the comeback with nine fourth-quarter points, including the game-tying layup and a clutch jumper with 20 seconds remaining to push the lead to two possessions.

Marshall trailed after each of the first three quarters, falling behind 24-18 after the opening period and entering the final frame down 56-53. The Herd's relentless defense proved decisive, amassing 20 steals and forcing 25 Old Dominion turnovers. Peyton Ilderton set a new career-high with seven steals to go along with 12 points and a team-leading five assists, anchoring the defensive effort that led to a staggering 41 points off turnovers.
Timberlynn Yeast was a catalyst in the fourth-quarter rally, tying for the team lead with six rebounds and hitting the go-ahead free throw at the 8:06 mark. Fellow sophomore Kassie Ingram hit a pair of clutch triples late.
The victory extends Marshall's unbeaten start to conference play and marks its best opening to a season since 1986-87.
