Marshall S&D Concludes Day Two at American Conference Championship

Three A Finalists highlight second day

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving Team's second day at the American Conference Championship was highlighted by three student-athletes reaching the A Finals.
"Another strong session for this group," Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Ian Walsh said. "Super proud of how tough we're competing and making adjustments race to race."
The Herd's top finish of the day came from Molly Warner in the 400 IM. The junior finished fourth with the fourth fastest time in program history at 4:16.78. Sadie Rogers also scored points for MU by reaching the C Final.
"Molly had another great day, setting a personal best and sits fourth all time in program history. Elyse, Lolo, and Katie had a great 100 Fly races, both in the morning and afternoon. Personal bests for all three of them and sit second, fourth, and 10th all time."
Marshall had two A Finalists in the 100 Butterfly. Elyse Wood captured fifth in 53.66, the second fastest time in program history, with Lauren McNamara finishing in a tie for sixth. McNamara's time of 54.10 in prelims claimed the fourth fastest time. Katie Fisher also added points to the leaderboard by reaching the B Final with her Prelim time of 54.55 being the 10th-fastest in program history.
"Maddie and Preslava competed well, really attacking their final swims while putting themselves in a place to win their respective heat."
In the 200 Freestyle, Maddie Emment and Preslava Tosheva scored for MU by reaching the B and C Finals, respectively.
"We capped the evening off with our sixth fastest 400 Medley Relay in school history. Abby Adams led off in a lifetime best of 54.94 which sits seventh all time."
The relay team of Abby Adams, Isabelle Cameron, McNamara and Wood set the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 400 Medley Relay (3:41.61).
On the 1m boards, Ella Houk was the team's top scorer at 178.75 for 36th.
