Trashaun Smith’s Podium Finish Highlights Final Day of SBC Indoor Championships

Marshall men finish 7th with 50.5 points; Herd women finish 8th with 39 points
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - As a freshman, Marshall's Trashaun Smith jumped 15.44 meters in the Triple Jump on the final day of the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, finishing 2nd overall.
Smith led a Herd Men's Triple Jump - which showcased itself throughout the indoor season - with a team event-high three scorers alongside Cam Hamby's 4th place finish and Otenidi Omot's 5th.
The trio of MU men were three of eight to score, including Justin Lipscomb's 5th place finish in the 3K following his podium finish in the 5K Monday. The sophomore from Winfield finishes as the men's individual high-point scorer.
Markayla Moore earned that distinction on the women's side, following up her podium finish in Monday's Weight Throw with a 4th place finish in the Shot Put Tuesday. Her throw of 14.65m gave the Herd's senior 13 points over the two events.
The Marshall women finished 7th, scoring 39 points at the championships.
