HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Track & Field delivered a statement performance at the Marshall Jewel City Invitational, capping its home season at the Chris Cline Athletic Complex with a flurry of event victories, podium finishes and a new Triple Jump school record set by Trashaun Smith.
Smith's 15.56m jump sits 2nd in the Sun Belt Conference currently. The Herd currently has 13 marks in the Top-5 of the SBC including two marks from Markayla Moore - who won Saturday's Weight Throw. Moore is also one of 16 graduates honored Saturday.
Our kids did an amazing job today, Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts said. We certainly performed well and gave our seniors a final home meet to remember. I am certainly honored to have such a great group. Our seniors have bought in to what it means to be part of The Herd Track and Field Family. They have set a bar in their personal, academic, and athletic lives that will help bring the program to a new level.
