HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall Track & Field continues its outdoor season at NC State's Raleigh Relays. The large-scale three-day meet will be broadcast on ACC Network+.

The Herd opened its outdoor season last week at the River City Relays in Florida, with several highlights including 13 event victories, two of which came from Bay'Andria Hodges.

Hodges swept the 100m and 200m at Marshall's first outdoor meet. Hodges won the 200m with a personal record time of 23.89 - also the fastest time in the opening weekend of outdoor season in the Sun Belt Conference. She followed that up with a victory in the 100m with a time of 11.73.

"Last week was a great opener for me," said Hodges. "I didn't really go in with a goal time but I just wanted to go compete and I'm glad my hard work paid off. This week, I'm positive we're going to go have fun, run fast and cheer each other on."

On the men's side, the largest mark made was in the Men's Triple Jump. Freshman Trashaun Smith set a school record with a 15.43m jump. So too did Otenidi Omot and Cam Hamby surpass the previous school record from 1996.

"It was a big jump for me," said Omot. "After battling some stuff going on during indoor season, finally getting a mark and setting a [personal record] was very big for me. We're just very excited to get into outdoor season."

"Following up from our last meet in Jacksonville, I think a great goal for not only the team but also for myself, is to go out and have fun these next three days," Destiny Berryman said. "It's been a long few months, and everyone has been working hard and staying focused, not just on the track but also outside of it as well. Our team is filled with exceptional athletes who have already been killing it this season, I think it's important to keep that winning mentality that we already have and to remember what a privilege it is to compete at this level."

"As I head into each week there's always something new I can work on to better myself where that's in practice or in the weight room," Gradian Graham said. "I have very high expectations and goals that I set for myself, and I set high expectations for my teammates because I know what they are capable of. My teammates are there to push me and I'm there to push them. I absolutely think this team can do something great this year let alone next year and the year after that."

Following the Raleigh Relays, Marshall will have Easter Weekend off before competing in the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville on Apr. 10.
