Herd Track & Field Closes Strong at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Marshall Track & Field continued its outdoor campaign at the Raleigh Relays, taking on one of the nation's deepest fields at Paul Derr Track. Competing in cooler conditions from the previous two days, the Herd delivered several standout performances including scoring from relays and Markayla Moore.
The Herd women's 4x100 team finished 7th among a field of 35 with a time of 46.08. The other relay squads produced season-best marks as well.
Markayla Moore scored as well as she continued her strong senior campaign. Moore threw 58.20 meters, a second-best all-time mark in program history, scoring 7th.

Track Events
In the women's 200 meters, Iniya Charlton delivered a breakout performance with a personal-best 24.26, placing 18th overall and a Top-5 mark. Junior Bay'Andria Hodges followed closely with a 24.34 for 21st. Marshall's relay squads also produced season-best marks, as the 4x100m relay team clocked 46.08 for 7th place and the 4x400m relay team ran 3:50.89 to finish 19th in their sections. The women's 800 meters featured a personal best for junior Lauren Sonski, who crossed in 2:16.02, while senior Maggie Froning finished in 2:17.51. Myah Boze posted a season-best 1:03.89 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Field Events
In the women's hammer throw, senior Markayla Moore threw 58.20 meters, a second-best all-time mark in program history, scoring 7th. On the men's side, Gradian Graham threw a best mark since the program returned in 2023 with a 54.73m throw.
