NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Marshall University Tennis team (6-7) fell 4-0 to Columbia in New York, New York, on Friday afternoon.

"We are so close to breaking through. It's only a matter of time until we have enough experience to come through in the big moments," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.

The Lions took the doubles point with victories in all three contests.
Â
In singles, Johanna Strom was tied in the third set at number one singles before the contest was called as Alina Mokrynska was in a tiebreak in her second set at number three.

Nour El Ouazzani was also in the third set of her match at number five.
