Track & Field Closes Strong at Tennessee Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Marshall University Track & Field program concluded its competition at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday with six Top-3 finishes.
After a Friday headlined by Trashaun Smith's victory in the men's triple jump, the freshman as well as sophomore Ryan Muktar each finished on the podium of the high jump Saturday.
The Herd also saw Markayla Moore finish second in the Women's Shot Put, with a 14.65 meter throw. Lara Check, the Women's 4x100 team, and Ellie Hosaflook finished as the other Top-3 finishers for Marshall on Saturday.
On the track, Bay'Andria Hodges and the Women's 4x100 team set a season-best at 45.60 seconds. The team of Hodges, Iniya Charlton, Emma Henry, and Lakesha Smith made up the relay squad. Hodges delivered a historic performance in the women's 200 meters Friday, finishing fifth with a time of 23.70 seconds, which stands as the second-best in Marshall history.
Marshall's Men's 4x100 team was among the many other Herd athletes to set a season or personal-best Saturday. The Herd's team of Joey Bloebaum, Cole Friedman, Micah Hinton, and Samari McCord set a season-best at 40.62
