Marshall Football’s Oct. 3 Game At JMU Set For 3:45 p.m.

Herd, Dukes meet on ESPNU in battle of SBC East contenders
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football's Oct. 3 matchup at James Madison has been picked up by national television and will be a 3:45 p.m. kickoff shown nationally on ESPNU.
The Sun Belt made the announcement in coordination with ESPN, as part of the league's 12-day window for televised games.
Marshall will be making its third trip to Bridgeforth Stadium where the Dukes have boasted of one of the nation's top home records over their years there.
However, the Herd has emerged victorious in both matchups played in Harrisonburg, Va.
The last matchup in Harrisonburg came at the end of the 2024 regular season as the Herd won a 35-33 double-overtime affair that clinched the SBC East Division title before Marshall went on to win the 2024 Sun Belt Championship.
The Herd also earned a 26-12 win over the Dukes in the inaugural year in the SBC for both teams.
Marshall owns a 4-2 series advantage over the Dukes and the series is unique in that all four matchups that have come within Sun Belt Conference play have been won by the road team.
JMU was the preseason pick to repeat as Sun Belt Conference Champions while the Herd was selected No. 3 in the East Division and features SBC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Carlos Del Rio-Wilson.
