Cameron Coons joined the Marshall Baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2021, coming from Snead State Community College, located in Boaz, AL.Â
At Snead State, he was the head assistant coach where he was the infield, hitting and conditioning coach for 3 seasons. During those 3 seasons the Parsons earned two post season bids, the most recent in 2021.  In 2021, Coons helped lead the Parsons to a .344 team batting average and a school record 34 wins. After the 2021 season Coons was named the 2021 Alabama Assistant Coach of the Year. Â
While coaching at Snead State, Coons spent the summer of 2021 as the assistant coach with the Amsterdam Mohawks, part of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in Amsterdam, New York. While in Amsterdam Coons lead the Mohawks to a league best in every offensive category.
Coons was a four-year student-athlete for Alvernia University. In 2016, Coons was named Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, ABCA/Rawlings All Region team.  In 2017 was named Alvernia University’s Athlete of the Year, and ABCA/Rawlings All Region team.  Â
Coons played professional baseball for the East Side Diamond Hopper in the United Shore Professional Baseball League in Utica, MI.  Coons was part of the championship series and was awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the season.Â
