Partin began as Marshall's Special Teams Quality Control in August 2019.
He came to Huntington from Hampden-Sydney, his alma mater, where he coached for five years. There, he worked primarily with the tight ends and tackles while also serving as the strength and conditioning coach and video coordinator. Partin joined the coaching ranks after a successful playing career for the Tigers.

Partin, a Waterford, Va. native, was a four-year letter winner and two-year starter at center for the Tigers from 2010-13. He earned Second Team All-ODAC honors as a senior while guiding Hampden-Sydney to its eighth ODAC Championship and the second round of the NCAA playoffs. With the Tigers, Partin won two ODAC Championships, appeared in three NCAA playoffs, and posted an overall record of 32-12.
