TJ Lester serves as the Video Coordinator and Director of Football Operations for the Marshall University football program, overseeing the program’s video operations while assisting with the day-to-day organization and operations of Thundering Herd Football.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Lester came to Marshall after building an accomplished background in football video at NC State University, where he earned his degree in Sport Management.
Lester spent four years working with the NC State football video department, beginning as a student video intern for two years before serving two years as a video coordinator. During his time with the Wolfpack, Lester was part of a video department that earned recognition as one of the best in college football.
The NC State video staff was named the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA) ACC Video Team of the Year in both 2022 and 2024. In 2024, the staff also earned the organization’s highest team honor when it was named the CSVA National Video Team of the Year.
In his role with Marshall Football, Lester helps manage the program’s football operations while directing its video efforts, providing coaches and student-athletes with the resources necessary for preparation, evaluation and development. His responsibilities combine the organizational demands of football operations with the technology and attention to detail required of a modern college football video department.
Lester is an active member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA).
