2009-10 (SOPHOMORE): Averaged 8.5 points and 3.2 rebounds in 26 games at Frank Phillips (Junior) College in Borger, Texas...Led team in assists (110) and steals (64). 2008-09 (FRESHMAN): Attended New Mexico Junior College.
HIGH SCHOOL: Spent 2006-08 at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass. where he led the Crusaders to the 2007 Prep School National Championship...played for current Marshall assistant coach Bill Barton at Notre Dame Prep...scored 28 points against Bridgton Academy in the 114-94 victory in the title game...averaged 14.0 points and 7.0 assists as a senior while he teamed with the Miami Heat[apos]s Michael Beasley to direct the Crusaders to a 32-3 record...In 2008, Higgins and Notre Dame Prep returned to the national tournament but fell in the semifinals to Findlay College Prep, 74-70...prior to Notre Dame, Higgins guided Randallstown High School in Randallstown, Md., to a pair of state championships as a sophomore and junio...as a junior, Higgins averaged 27.8 points, 6.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game...as a sophomore, he posted 15.5 points, 5.2 assists and 5.4 rebounds per contest...also played on the Cecil-Kirk AAU team, which he led to the Las Vegas Youth AAU Championship in 2007.
