2013 (Freshman): Started in 30 of 53 regular-season games, as well as three starts and five appearances in postseason action... Bayne rotated in and out of short stop and second base, ending the season with a .241 batting average and .361 slugging percentage... In her rookie season, she hit three doubles, two triples (a team high) and a home run... In the Georgia Tech Classic on Feb. 17 Bayne not only recorded her first hit, she also had a perfect 2-for-2 game with two RBI and a double... Against ECU on April 13 she slammed her first collegiate homer over the fence... In postseason action she hit an RBI-triple against Notre Dame in regionals to help Marshall earn its first regional victory May 18.
High School: From Manvel, Texas where she played for Manvel High School for four years...batted .352 for the Mavericks and hit five home runs...was a two-time offensive MVP...earned first-team all-district honors for short stop and third base...was an AP scholar, Texas scholar and graduated in the top ten percentile...played summer ball with Texas Storm Wymer for four years.
Personal: Born July 19, 1994 to parents David and Joni Bayne...has one brother, Ryan (24)...majoring in marketing.
