The Louisville, Ky., native scored those points from 1987-91, and was named a member of the Southern Conference’s All-Decade team (1980s). In addition to her scoring total, she still ranks among the Marshall leaders in career field goals (500), free throws (302) and rebounds (723). Johnson helped the team to regular-season championships in 1988 and 1989, and was given All-Southern Conference recognition in 1989-90 and 1990-91, when she also won Marshall’s Donna Lawson Leadership Award as the team’s Most Valuable Player. Johnson was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
