AKRON, Ohio ? The Marshall University volleyabll team went toe-to-toe with Mid-American Conference foe Akron, but came up short as The Zips defeated the Herd, 3-0. Akron ( 11-4, 6-3 MAC) defeated The Herd (4-13, 2-7 MAC) in three games, 30-21, 30-19, 30-21.
The Herd was led by Isabell Anderer (Sophomore/Sinsheim, Germany) who had 12 kills and 15 defensive digs. Heidi Kuethe (junior/ Normal, Ill.) was close behind with 9 kills and 8 defensive digs.
Marshall will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio tomorrow where they will take on the Falcons of Bowling Green State University. Bowling Green is currently 11-4 overall and 4-3 in Mid-American Conference action.
The Herd will be at home Tuesday night when they take on Louisville in the Henderson Center and 7:00 p.m.
