Volleyball Drops Contest to Louisville

10/23/2001

HUNTINGTON, WV ? The Marshall University volleyball team dropped its fourth consecutive match Tuesday evening. Louisville (14-4, 8-3 C-USA) defeated the Herd (4-15, 2-8 MAC) in three games, 30-20, 30-16, 30-14.

?We showed a lot of resiliance despite several injuries,? said head coach Steffi Legall. ?We had to make several adjustments against a good Louisville team. We need to work on becoming consistent on defense against a Top-25 team, like Louisville.?

Marshall was led by Jodi Fick (junior/Fremont, Ohio) who ended the evening with 13 kills and 13 digs. Also helping the Herd along was Isabell Anderer (sophomore/Sinsheim, Germany) who had 11 kills and 12 digs.

Marshall returns to action, when it travels to Central Michigan and Western Michigan this weekend. The Herd will take on the Chippewas, October 26, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. and will then travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. where they will take on the Broncos of Western Michigan, October 27.

The Herd falls to 4-15 overall and 2-8 in the MAC.
